Insurance Brand & Market Research

To guide the rebranding process for Columbia Insurance, UNANIMOUS conducted in-depth brand and market research, including a series of phone interviews with employees and board members. These conversations provided valuable insight into internal perceptions, challenges, and aspirations related to the existing brand. Prior to the interviews, an initial discovery meeting was held with key stakeholders to align on goals and priorities. The research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the current brand, identifying opportunities for improvement, and understanding expectations for the brand’s future. These findings informed strategic recommendations that shaped the direction of Columbia Insurance’s renewed verbal and visual identity.

Insurance Brand Renaming

The shift from Columbia Insurance Group to Columbia Insurance was intentional and strategic. By simplifying the name, we created a brand that is easier to recall, stronger in visual presence, and more aligned with the way the company is referred to in conversation. The updated name removes redundancy and enhances clarity, while preserving brand equity. It reflects the organization’s professional nature and its commitment to delivering trusted insurance solutions.

This includes both internal and external communication, including a brand promise, positioning statement, tagline, and key messages, all rooted in a professional yet personable voice. Logo Concepting

The logo development process for Columbia Insurance was highly collaborative and rooted in strategy. We presented multiple visual identity concepts, each designed to tell a distinct and meaningful story. Through a series of guided discussions and feedback sessions, we worked closely with the Columbia Insurance team to refine the creative direction. The final logo is a confident and accurate representation of the brand’s vision, values, and commitment to its clients.

To support the brand rollout and internal engagement, we produced a comprehensive video suite that included:

Our team conducted a two-day shoot in Columbia, Missouri, followed by a one-day shoot at their Omaha, Nebraska location. These videos were designed to showcase the new brand in action—building trust with audiences, supporting recruitment, and reinforcing organizational culture.
