Nebraska State College System

Established in 1867, the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) consists of the three state colleges; Chadron State, Peru State, and Wayne State, along with the System Office and Board of Trustees. NSCS serves nearly 9,000 students with affordable, high-quality education opportunities. UNANIMOUS teamed up with NSCS on many initiatives including a communication strategy, brand enhancement, identity kit, print collateral, and social media graphics.

Communication Strategy

UNANIMOUS first worked with NSCS on a communication strategy to establish a clear plan for marketing and communication initiatives. Extensive research was conducted to define a clear brand position and messaging strategy. UNANIMOUS worked with NSCS to develop an elevator speech, key communication points, and tagline, along with marketing and advertising recommendations. A new tagline was established — Explore Opportunites. Experience Growth. Expect Sucess.  The communication strategy laid the groundwork for all future marketing and design work. 

Branding and Identity

UNANIMOUS created many logo variations and options for the brand enhancements, recommending simplification of the logo mark and a more approachable color palette. The logo mark consists of three diamonds representing the three NSCS colleges. UNANIMOUS redesigned the mark with a more streamlined and modern look. The redesigned logo and mark positions NSCS as a forward-thinking organization that will better connect with students and key decision makers.

The new branding including logo variations for a variety of web and print applications and additional brand assets featuring multi-color patterns and layouts.

Brand Guide

NSCS's new logo design was only one component of the overall rebrand. A brand guide was created to outline proper logo usage, logo variations, font usage, and color guidelines. The brand guide will serve as an essential tool for NSCS to implement and use the new brand moving forward.

Print Collateral

All NSCS print and identity kit materials were redesigned with the new logo and branding. The identity kit featured letterhead, business cards, notepads, notecards, and envelopes. UNANIMOUS designed a gatefold brochure highlighting key message points and infographics for each of the three colleges. Additionally, social media and PowerPoint templates were created with the new branding.

Promotional Materials

What fun is new branding if you can’t share it with the world? UNANIMOUS made many recommendations for branded giveaways and swag including pens and debossed journals. A 2018 calendar was designed and delivered to key influencers to kick off the new branding. The calendar showcases students from Peru State, Chadron State, and Wayne State and has infographics highlighting important school year statistics.
