Rachel Henry Announced as 2018 Inspire Award Winner

Wednesday, September 12, 2018

UNANIMOUS’ own Rachel Henry has been selected as the recipient of the 2018 Inspire Award in the category of Excellence in Business. The Inspire Awards recognize women who have excelled in their profession and emerged as leaders and role models in the community. This award celebration was created by the Lincoln Journal Star in 2015 and has honored dozens of inspiring female leaders in Lincoln.

A Tireless and Dedicated Leader at Work
Rachel, who joined UNANIMOUS in March, has long been a person who believed in putting forth maximum effort to create change in her surroundings. She is enthusiastic, bright, focused, and always working towards producing better outcomes for her clients, coworkers, and the community. She has impacted the workplace at UNANIMOUS in many ways including enhancing our internal work processes and client communication. Her lead by example philosophy challenges those around her to put forth and produce even more. Rachel’s work ethic shows when she tirelessly puts in time above and beyond the typical work week to deliver on timelines. She is dedicated to always providing exemplary work on every project she is involved in.

A Catalyst for Change in Her Community
Rachel has volunteered her time in the community as much as she can in between her diligent efforts to finish her MBA at the University of Nebraska Omaha. As a board member at VolunteerLinc, an organization that focuses on maximizing the positive impact of local volunteerism, she volunteers her time on their fundraising and marketing efforts. Most recently, as a part of her MBA program, she provided pro bono consulting for the Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska. She helped with an initiative to enhance their messaging and develop a platform for story sharing opportunities across Nebraska. The approach encourages Girl Scouts members to share personal stories focused on how the organization has impacted their lives and helped them to build leadership skills, courage, confidence, and character. In early August Rachel completed her MBA coursework and is now eager to make an even bigger impact in her community!

An Example of Hard Work, Determination, and a Positive Attitude
In her hometown of Peru, Nebraska, Rachel started a mobile food distribution known as Feeding 44. A partnership between Peru State College and the Food Bank of Lincoln, the goal of the initiative is to eliminate food insecurity in Southeast Nebraska. Since leaving the area, the program still remains and continues to be a student-led organization that provides leadership and volunteer opportunities to students each year, as well as an impact on the local community. In the first five years since Rachel launched the program, it has served more than 9,000 people in need.

Rachel also mentors young professionals in the Lincoln and Omaha by helping them prepare for new career opportunities. She helps individuals with career searches and transitions, resume writing and editing, and interview preparation.

The 4th Annual Inspire Awards
The 4th Annual Inspire Awards were announced on September 12th at Pinnacle Bank Arena. All of us at UNANIMOUS are thrilled that Rachel was selected as the winner of the Excellence in Business award and enjoyed seeing her honored along with the other recipients at the awards banquet. We could not be more proud of our coworker and know she will continue to inspire others and make an impact on our community.
