Norris School District: A Lesson in Engagement


Just south of Lincoln, Nebraska, Norris School District serves nearly 2,000 students and enjoys a long tradition as one of the leading academic school districts in the state. Norris has partnered with UNANIMOUS over the last 5 years on several branding, marketing, and website initiatives -- all with the goal to strengthen communications and enhance the learning environment.

UNANIMOUS first partnered with Norris to complete a website audit, which led to the discovery of many opportunities for improved SEO, navigation, site structure and information retrieval. Armed with this knowledge and the goal of engaging more community support, careful planning and thorough research was completed to plan and build a website that maximized the user experience for visitors. UNANIMOUS helped Norris School District create one core website that serves parents, students, faculty and community members. A strategic re-organization of navigation and content greatly improves the visitor experience. A customized content management system (CMS) supports quick editing by Norris’ 50 website authors. The website is mobile, Google, and social media friendly.

UNANIMOUS conducted research with parents, students, teachers and staff to provide a clear direction for Norris to more effectively communicate. Based on the interviews and focus groups, a plan was created detailing high priority and low priority issues, as well as recommendations for enhancing current communication efforts. Norris School District was able to use the research to gain key insights and create an action plan.
