Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Web Design

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services needed a new web presence to better serve the public, employees and inmate family members. UNANIMOUS designed and developed a new mobile-friendly website that is easy to use, update and provides a valuable resource to the department. With a vast amount of information across a number of facilities, it was crucial to reorganize website content to create a more intuitive user experience that was also easier to maintain. The department’s new website features robust newsfeeds, career postings and detailed information about every facility.

The department serves Nebraskans with a mission to Keep People Safe. UNANIMOUS designed the site to make information easy to access and to provide greater transparency. Information such as visiting hours and how to send funds to inmates was put front and center to better accommodate inmate family members who make up a large portion of website traffic.

“The focus during the redesign was to make the experience more relevant and efficient for our stakeholders,” Director Scott R. Frakes said. “This new website improves the agency’s transparency as it provides streamlined menus, simple navigation and access to the information people need.”

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services now has a strong web presence that’s working not only for the department’s employees but for all Nebraskans.
