UNANIMOUS Presents at Nebraska Tech Summit
On Tuesday, October 30th, UNANIMOUS Vice President Matt O’Gorman presented at the Nebraska Tech Summit hosted by Five Nines Technology Group. The one-day conference was held at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln.
Tech Summit participants attended breakout sessions throughout the day on technology, marketing, and business administration. Matt’s session, “Right Time, Right Place Marketing with Google Ads” focused on how to maximize your marketing spending by using Google Ads to reach potential customers right as they are searching for similar products and services. Matt’s presentation, one of 15 breakout sessions, was at capacity a week prior due to high demand and interest in the topic.
Google Ads, formerly known as Google AdWords, is a form of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising where advertisers pay to place ads on the Google advertising network. During the presentation, Matt explained the various types of advertising available; display, YouTube, app, and search. The presentation focused on the basics of developing an effective search campaign. Matt shared how the Google Ad auction works, the importance of keywords, account structure, elements of an ad, factors that affect quality score, and provided a brief overview of key metrics to track.
Near the end of the presentation, Matt touched on what he’s learned throughout the process of being Google Ads certified, “If I was an expert, I was an expert yesterday.” Google is constantly adding new enhancements, features, policies, and updates. To keep pace with the rapid changes, organizations must continually monitor and adapt their Google Ads campaigns to maximize effectiveness.
